An interesting article in today's Media Guardian supplement on the power of crowd sourcing - Ushahidi played an instrumental role in allowing Kenyan citizens to map reports of incidents of political violence post election in 2007. http://www.guardian.co.uk/media/2010/aug/16/ushahidi-haiti-news-map Now, extreme weather conditions across large swaths of China, Russia and Pakistan have brought Ushahidi into new territories.
Here's a video of Clay Shirky's TED talk looking at the shared, online work we do with our spare brain cycles. "While we're busy editing Wikipedia and posting to Ushahidi we're building a better, more cooperative world".
The latest from NoPC towers is that the final shipment of supplies will be flying its way over to Grenada this week. Our funders, The Taylor Family Trust have been just fantastic and Andy is very much looking forward to flying out to Grenada himself in a couple of weeks. He'll be helping to install to first couple of schools! More from Grenada soon.
